Suman at Mangga

Suman is an all time Filipino favorite delicacy... It's actually glutinous rice cooked in coconut milk and wrapped in banana leaves... Typical way of eating Suman is just to open one, dip into sugar, for some, and simply enjoy...

But for me, I prefer to pan-fry the Suman until golden and crisp... Serve with butter, sprinkle with a little bit sugar, and fresh sweet Mangga or Mango...

Ahhh... simply delicious... :)

Exactly My First Year, a Happy Mother's Day, and an Ostrich Egg

It was exactly a year ago that I finally found the courage to start MY FINDS... it was supposed to be just an experiment, to get the feel of the blogging world, as they say... But I'm truly so amazed that it's been already a year and I'm still here... I really want to thank everyone who continue to drop by and see what finds I continue to have...

Well, for this special day, which is truly, truly special because today is also the day where the whole world is celebrating Mother's Day... (so to all the Moms out there, and of course, to my very own Mom, I want to greet all of you a very Happy Mother's Day!!! )... Let me present to you a special find, this is a gift from a dear friend, an Ostrich Egg...

We were really amazed when we saw this actual Ostrich Egg, we never thought it's this BIG...

To give you guys an idea, here's to compare the Ostrich Egg with a Chicken Egg...

Kid 2 really wanted to preserve the Ostrich Egg Shell, in order to do that, we have to operate... :)

First, you have to shake the egg... then wash the drill and make a mark with a tip of your pen at the center of the egg and drill away...

Until this...

Shake and let the egg slide out of the shell...

.
Still dripping..

I was told that a single Ostrich Egg is equivalent to 2 dozens of Chicken Eggs...

Well, we decided to taste this, so here was the Scrambled Ostrich Egg... the taste was a little different, I think... or is it just the same???

Oh well, it was a fun experience and Kid 2 was happy to get his shell... and hmmm, I wonder what to do with the remaining Ostrich Egg in the ref...
