Aloha... that's what I remembered... as a kid, I always frequent this restaurant with my family... as in we went here for our Sunday lunches at least once or twice a month... until recently, I realized that the name of this restaurant is actually
Sze-Chuan House and not
Aloha at all... the name
Aloha came about because the location of
Sze-Chuan House is in
Aloha Hotel, thus the name
Aloha got stuck... anyway, whatever the name this resto has, this place will always bring a lot of good memories...

Fried String Beans with Minced Meat (P160.00 or US$3.26)... the taste was just as I remembered, full of delicious flavor...
Ox Tail with Chili Sauce Hot Pot (P250.00 or US$5.10)... this dish was full of flavor... but it could be a lot better if the meat will be more tender...
Fried Frog Legs with Salt and Pepper... this was an old favorite, but I wondered what happened?... the legs were coated with too much flour and eggs, you can't really see or taste the frog legs... it was seasoned with way too much pepper...
Fried Intestine (P180.00 or US$3.67)... they were fried beautifully... the onion leeks they inserted inside the cavity of the intestine made it so flavorful...
Steamed Eel with Black Beans and Chili (P720.00 or US$14.70)... very, very, very good... it was cook perfectly... the flavors of all the spices blended well with eel... simply amazing... perfect with steamed white rice...

There are still a lot of dishes here that I want and I will come back to... dishes that reminds me of my childhood... this place remains a favorite... not only because of the food, but because of memories that I will always treasure....

your posts make me hungry all the time! :o)
Oh! I think I've eaten there a few years ago. We ordered the usual favorites, though, so there weren't any complaints :)
I need to be hanging out with you...like, just for one meal!

Haha I would of kept it at Aloha too... it's an easier name.
I think if we ate out, you would continually push me to my comfort zone borders. Frog legs, tripe, oxtail... I want to party with you :)
Looks like they have several tasty choices on the menu!
